CLIMATE CHANGE IMPACT ASSESSMENT
Global climate change refers to changes in the climate of the Earth as a whole, caused by both natural and human activities. Natural causes include, changes in solar energy, volcanic eruptions, and natural changes in greenhouse gas (GHG) concentrations. Since the Industrial Revolution, humans have had an increasing effect on climate, predominantly by releasing an overabundance of heat-trapping GHGs into the atmosphere.
This unnatural build-up of GHGs is warming the earth's atmosphere. Global atmospheric warming, in turn, is triggering major alterations in the weather and climate. This have major effects on human health, welfare and ecosystems. It also affects the planning and day to day operations of businesses, government departments and other organisations. EHRCON can assist organisations in compiling their Climate Change Impact Assessment. The Assessment provides the company, relevant government departments, and other stakeholders with a fair account of the challenges posed by climate change, thus reducing exposure and managing risks. It also offers an approach to realise potential business opportunities; which can improve the competitiveness of a company, and ensure its long-term survival and growth. |
