Process Emission Testing

Emission testing or stack emission measurement is the process of monitoring particulate and gaseous emissions from a specific source.

EHRCON measures and evaluates emissions from listed activities according to current emission standards.

The measurement of both type and quantity of the contaminants is an important part of obtaining the data needed to implement a meaningful control programme. Processes and air pollution control systems are reviewed with reference to best available control technology and ambient air quality management programmes are designed accordingly.

There are several reasons for obtaining source emission data from industrial stacks to:
  • Determine if the unit is in compliance with existing or proposed emission regulations
  • Ascertain the economics of materials or product losses from a source
  • Obtain relevant data which can facilitate the selection and design of control equipment
  • Test the efficiency of installed control equipment
  • Allow control of a process by continuous or frequent observation of one or more constituents in the emission stream
  • Provide more accurate data to develop management programmes, control regulations and inventories
  • Calibrate continuous monitors
